Uke 40 - Front Close.jpg

I'm calling this tenor "Bee's Wing" because that is the what some wood dealers call this type of thick intermeshed curl.

The tone is warm and sweet, as you would expect in a Koa tenor.

The back matches the front but this picture is a better representation of the true color. The curl pattern changes depending on how the light hits the uke.

The center strip is East Indian rosewood that matches the binding.

The accents are a red coolibah Burl that is really interesting.

I used Gold Gotoh tuners this time.

Uke 40 - Backstrap.jpg

The neck is Honduran Mahogany with a carbon fiber truss rod.

The fingerboard and bridge are East Indian rosewood. Nut and saddle are natural water buffalo bone.

Uke 40 - Side port.jpg

As always, there is a side soundport. The sides match the top and back very nicely.

If you think this uke looks like its gold plated, it kind of does in real life.

Uke 40 - Rosette.jpg

The rosette and purfling are Paua Abalone with thin black and white striping around the borders.

I went with gold Gotoh planetary turners this time. I liked the gold with this koa.
