I'm calling this koa tenor “Chocolate Thunder" because the color of the koa is unusually dark and the this uke really projects for a all Koa instument.

The tone is warm and sweet, as you would expect in a Koa tenor.

The back matches the front but this picture is a better representation of the true color. The curl pattern changes depending on how the light hits the uke.

The center strip is East Indian rosewood that matches the binding.

The accents are a brown mallee Burl that is really interesting.

I used black Gotoh tuners this time.

The neck is Honduran Mahogany with a carbon fiber truss rod.

The fingerboard and bridge are East Indian rosewood. Nut and saddle are natural water buffalo bone.

As always, there is a side soundport.

I love the sides on this tenor. I especially like the copper stripe above the soundport flanked on both sides by dark bands.

The rosette and purfling are Paua Abalone with thin black and white striping around the borders.

Instead of doing my usual matching koa headstock, I went with Indian rosewood instead to match the fretboard.
