This ukulele has a very curly Oregon Myrtle (aka California Bay Laurel) top with chocolate Myrtle back and sides all from Pacific Coast Woods.

The top was not originally purchased with this back and side set, but I think they go well together.

I really like the color nuances of this on the back and the "shark fins" give even more interest.

The accents are a Coolibah Burl. I am starting to like book matching the backstop. It gives interesting patterns the small wood pieces are easier to source.

The sides on this uke are from the some billet as the back, but just a different part of the board. I love the silky look of the sides.

The neck is curly Big Leaf Maple with a carbon reinforcement rod.

Top is really pretty and has a wonderful warmth to its tone. The rosette is East Indian rosewood as is the binding. I really like the purplish color of this rosewood with the tone of most of the myrtle I get in.

The headstock is the same curly myrtle as the top. The tuners are black Gotoh Interplanetary tuners. Strings are a Pepe Romero wound low g string with custom high carbon fluorocarbon strings.

I really like the sound of this uke. It has a warm tone like koa, but it also has a wonderful volume and depth to the sound.

Here is a sound sample for this ukulele graciously done by Chad Silva. He is not playing a song, just noodling. This video was shot with a normal iPhone with no amplification.

Chad is the store manager at Island Bazaar in Huntington Beach, CA, one of the largest ukulele stores in the state. As you can tell, he is quite a ukulele player.
