This tenor we are calling "Flaming Limba" for obvious reasons. Black Limba is an African wood related to almond. This wood sometimes contains beetle holes. The beetles cause the the wood to develop orange streaks, sort of like ambrosia maple, but a different color.
I really like the tone of this ukulele, warm like koa or mahogany but with a little more punch.
This one is going to be a birthday present for the daughter of a former student of mine.
This is a picture of the back. The grain is very striking and wood on the back has a very faint curl. You can see it on the right half.
The binding and the stripe down the center are Gaboon Ebony.
The accents are Coolibah Burl. I accidentally flat sawed the back of the headstock, but the book matched result was very interesting.
The neck is also Black Limba with a carbon fiber truss rod. Limba makes a nice neck and I find it matches mango, myrtle and of course Limba bodies better than mahogany.
As always, there is a side soundport. The sides match the top and back very nicely.

The fretboard and bridge are Gaboon Ebony to match the binding.
