All Curly Koa Tenor
(Jessica's Uke)

This Curly Koa tenor is going to a good friend and former colleague. This uke has such a sweet mellow sound I decided to string it with a full set of Pepe Romero low G fluorocarbons instead of my usual custom strings, which tend to be a little brighter.
This is an inside picture of the back. It shows the curl and the slight compression of the grain better than the pics in the sunlight.

The accents are a Cooibah Burl.
I accidentally cut the burl flat instead of on the quarter, but it looks really cool book matched, so it turned out OK

The rosette is a very pretty, thick abalone.

The binding, fretboard and bridge are East Indian Rosewood.
Here is a full back shot in the sunlight.
The neck is Honduran Mahogany reinforced with a carbon rod, just to be safe.

All PCH ukuleles have a side sound port unless for some reason the customer doesn't want one. However, I think once you play a uke with a sound port, you would want one forever.
