This is a curly Oregon Myrtle (aka - California Bay Laurel) tenor ukulele. I loved this set of wood. It reminds me of reclaimed barn wood. Myrtle is very close to Koa in density and sound quality. Many thanks to Vince of Pacific Coast Woods for providing this lovely wood set.

The rosette is black walnut with black and white purfling. The fingerboard, bridge and binding are East Indian rosewood. The purplish tone of the rosewood goes really well with the myrtle.

I can't quite get the full effect of the curl in this wood, but this picture hints at it. The neck is Black Limba, which matches well with the myrtle.

The accent wood for this uke is from a eucalyptus burl that I found laying on a walking path in my neighborhood. It had been sitting there for many years, but I never though about it until I started working with wood.

I really love the mellow sound and sustain of this ukulele.
