This ukulele has a salvaged redwood top and curly Claro

Walnut back and sides (both from Vince at Pacific Coast Woods). The wood for the top was taken from a redwood stump that had been logged 75 years ago.

Most redwood tops have a little more volume. Combined with the walnut back, this uke really sings out without being overbearing.

It is now living in Spain.

You can see the curl in the walnut in this picture. If you click on the picture, you can see the nice colors a little better.

The accents are a light Mallee burl.

The neck is Honduran mahogany with a carbon fiber reinforcement rod.

Binding and rosette are a nice curly maple. I like the way the curl on the rosette goes from tight at the bottom to wider at the top.

The fretboard and bridge are an Asian Ebony that is brown with black wavy stripes instead of being all black.

I thought the dark brown went much better with the redwood top.

As always this uke has a sound side port that allows the player to hear the same sound as the audience.
