The sides of this mango tenor have a very “stripey” curl pattern that gave it the name “Tiger”.

The side sound port gives the player a more accurate picture of what the audience would be hearing.

The curl on the front and back are very different from the sides, but they actually came from the same pair of guitar sides that I purchased from Michael at Elite Tonewoods.

Stay tuned for more ukes from Michael’s mango and some amazing Sapele.

The accents are from the dark koa boards I like to use with my myrtle instruments. I think it goes very well with the mango too. Thanks to Hank Johnson (Kimo Ukuleles) I have quite bit, but I will sad when its gone.

The neck is White Limba (aka - Korean) with a carbon reinforcement rod. Limba has a density very similar to mahogany, but the colors match better for myrtle and mango ukes in my opinion.

Top is really pretty and has a wonderful warmth to its tone. The rosette and binding are blue puau abalone. The binding is curly koa that goes will with this Hawaiian mango.

The fretboard and the bridge are maccassar ebony.

The headstock is the same mango as the top. I love the pin spot grain of mango. It is a very unique look.

The tuners are black Gotoh Interplanetary tuners.

Strings are a Pepe Romero wound low g string with custom high carbon fluorocarbon strings.

I have used mango on a couple concerts before. This is the first time to use it for a tenor. The sound is amazing, very warm and soothing.
